This week we caught up with yet another astounding Honors student, Jordan Paine. Jordan is a Junior in Agricultural Education and Political Science from Oxford, Nebraska. Her dream is to work in corporate agricultural law and maintain a small herd of registered Simmental cattle.

Jordan discussed why she picked Purdue in the first place.
I chose Purdue because they have a great agricultural and liberal arts program. Purdue offered a place where I could grow personally and professionally. Plus, when I got my acceptance into an honors college that was just starting, it seemed like a perfect chance to be a part of something that would have lasting effects.
In her three years at Purdue, Jordan has been a very active member of the Honors College as well as agricultural community on campus, leading to a number of impressive leadership positions. She is the President of IAAE-Purdue (International Association of Agricultural Economists), an agricultural education mentor, and a YDAE (Youth Development and Agricultural Education) ambassador. In addition, she is also on the Honors Leadership Council. Just recently, she joined Golden Key and Phi Sigma Alpha (the political science honors fraternity). And to top it all off, she was previously a member of the Purdue Crew Team.
Jordan has been a part of the Honors College since its founding year, and she shared some of her experience with me.
The Honors College has opened up so many doors for me. Having my professors know I am in the Honors College has allowed me to follow "untraditional paths." For instance, I spent a week in a teaching field experience on an Indian Reservation school in Montana, which was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I also have been able to build relationships with professors that I have contracted courses in, and have been given additional leadership opportunities.
I think it’s safe to conclude that Jordan has had a very successful career at Purdue thus far and has even greater things in store. On behalf of the Honors College, congratulations on all you have accomplished Jordan. You are an exceptional representative of the Honors College and Purdue.
